Due to some requests, shall blog about the FA cup final. Well, as you know, it was 0-0 after ET and then Arsenal won 5-4 on penalties.
I support neither of these teams and it was great just to watch from the side perspeective. In the course of the 90mins + extra time, it can be said that MANU created more chances that Arsenal. I wouldnt say that they deserved to win cos ultimately they didnt score. They have no one else to blame except themselves. It is up to their players to score and win the match. No point criticizing other teams strategy, referee etc. The fact is that they did not put away their chances. But it was a much improved manu side, no doubt, cristiano ronaldo give ashley cole a handful.
But once it reached the penalty shoot-out, there was only 1 team that could win. Arsenal obviously worked on their penalties. Beautiful ones. Top left. Top right. Bamm. Any manager would be proud of them.
I thought the referee also did a fantastic job, trying to calm things down by not flashing cards all the tiime. Despite what they said before the match, roy keane and patrick vieira, werent that robust as one would have respected. But i commend the english FA for appoiting such a fantastic referee. Definetly one of the bests performances by a referee this season.
Some stats:
Mike Riley - Gave 10 penalties in 10 games to manu while officiating their games.
Mark Clattenburg - Disallowed tottenham's goal. The ball crossed the line by about a metre or so and he disallowed it. Joke. This will go down as the biggest bluders of all times. The next generation will prob hear about it. LOL
